KNX service and programming
Programming changes, fault finding and project recovery for KNX systems across Sydney. KNX is an open standard, so any competent integrator can service it, provided they have the ETS project or can rebuild it.
Leave your number and we'll call you
Your name and number is all we need. Tell us what it's doing if you like, and we'll tell you what's likely involved before anyone comes out.

Why KNX is serviceable by anyone, and why that still goes wrong
KNX is an open standard with hundreds of manufacturers, programmed in ETS. That's its great strength: you're never tied to one company.
The weak point is the ETS project file. Without it, the group addresses, parameters and logic on each device can't simply be edited. We can read back the physical addresses and much of the configuration from the bus, rebuild a working project and hand you a documented copy.
Common KNX faults
- Keypads or scenes that stopped working after a change
- A device replaced but never downloaded
- Lost or out-of-date ETS project file
- Bus power supply or line faults
- IP router or interface offline, so the app can't connect
- Logic controller or visualisation failures
- Too many devices on a line, or a line coupler misconfigured
- Blinds or climate out of step with the scenes
KNX repairs, programming and upgrades
KNX fault finding
Bus diagnostics with ETS and a bus monitor: voltage, telegram traffic, line and coupler configuration.
ETS project recovery
Reading back what's on the bus and rebuilding a working, documented ETS project.
Programming changes
New scenes, re-engraved keypads, schedules, and changes to how blinds and climate behave.
Extensions and integration
Adding rooms, sensors and blinds, or bringing KNX under Savant or another interface.
How a KNX service call works
Tell us the symptoms
Describe what the system is doing, or refusing to do. We'll tell you what's likely involved before anyone comes out.
On-site diagnosis
We find whether the fault is hardware, programming or the network before quoting a fix.
Repaired and tested
Parts replaced, programming restored, and tested with you before we leave.
What a service call costs
- $330
- to attend, including the first hour on site
- $198
- per hour after the first hour, in 30 minute blocks
The $330 is credited against the repair if you go ahead with it, and we quote the repair before we start it. All prices include GST. No travel charge, and nothing on the invoice you haven't agreed to.
KNX questions we get asked
We don't have the ETS project. Can you still work on our KNX system?
Often, yes. We can read back physical addresses and much of the configuration from the bus and rebuild a working project. It takes longer than working from the original file, and you get a documented copy at the end.
Can you add to a KNX system someone else installed?
Yes. KNX is an open standard, so extending another integrator's system is routine once we have, or have rebuilt, the ETS project.
Our app stopped connecting to the KNX system.
Usually the IP router or interface, or an address change after a new modem. The bus itself is often fine.
Which ETS version do you use?
Current ETS. Older projects are migrated as part of the work, and we give you the updated file.
Where we attend
Servicing across the Northern Beaches, the Eastern Suburbs, the Lower and Upper North Shore and the Inner West, from Palm Beach and Mosman to Point Piper, Vaucluse, Wahroonga and Balmain.
