New C-Bus, or more of the C-Bus you have

Renovations, extensions and new builds. We design the system, fit the C-Bus hardware, program it and look after it afterwards, working alongside your electrician and builder.

New installs and extensions

If a house already has healthy C-Bus, extending it is often the most economical path, and the new rooms work the same way as the old ones. We add to the existing network and program the new rooms to match.

For a new build with nothing in the walls yet, we'll tell you plainly whether C-Bus or KNX suits the house better, and why.

What we install

  • Dimmers, relays and power supplies in the switchboard
  • Keypads in the range and finish that suits each room
  • Sensors for halls, robes and bathrooms
  • Touchscreens, or control from a phone or tablet
  • DALI fittings through a C-Bus DALI gateway
  • Links to blinds, climate and the rest of the house

Design and switchboard work with the electrician

We draw the circuit and device schedules and the switchboard layout, so the cabling and the board are right the first time. Your electrician runs the cable to our schedules; we fit the C-Bus hardware, program it and commission it.

We're a licensed electrical contractor ourselves (374272C), so we understand the switchboard side and can do it where that suits the job.

Design

Circuit and device schedules, switchboard layout and keypad positions, checked against the lighting plan.

Rough-in check

Your electrician runs the cable to our schedules, and we check it before the walls are closed.

Fit-off

C-Bus hardware fitted in the switchboard and keypads on the walls.

Programming and handover

Scenes, schedules and keypads programmed in C-Bus Toolkit and tested with you, with documentation and a backup of the programming.

What is included

  • The design: circuit and device schedules and the switchboard layout
  • The C-Bus hardware, supplied and fitted
  • Programming and commissioning in C-Bus Toolkit
  • Testing every scene and keypad with you
  • Handover documentation and a backup of the programming
  • Support afterwards, with an optional Care Plan

Every job is quoted from the plans or a walk through, with the scope written down before any work starts.

Why C-Bus

C-Bus is Clipsal's Australian lighting control system, and it's still widely installed in Sydney homes. It runs locally on its own wired bus, so the keypads and scenes keep working without the internet.

Where a house already has C-Bus, adding to it keeps every room working the same way. Where it doesn't, we'll also show you KNX and recommend the one that suits the house.

C-Bus installation questions

Can you extend the C-Bus system I already have?

Usually, yes. New dimmers, relays and keypads join the existing network and are programmed to work like the rest of the house. If nobody has the programming file, we rebuild it first.

Do you work with my electrician or builder?

Yes. We supply the circuit and device schedules and the switchboard layout, your electrician runs the cable to them, and we fit, program and commission the C-Bus. We're a licensed electrical contractor ourselves, licence 374272C.

Should a new build use C-Bus or KNX?

It depends on the house. C-Bus is a sound choice, especially where it matches a system already in the house. KNX is our default for new builds for its open standard and keypad choice. We'll recommend one and tell you why.

Will my lights still work if the internet goes down?

Yes. C-Bus runs locally on its own wired bus. Keypads, scenes and schedules keep working; only remote access and voice control need the internet.

What do you need from me to price a C-Bus installation?

The electrical or lighting plans if you have them, or a walk through the house. We'll come back with a scope and a price before any work starts.

Where we attend
