Doors, gates and credentials

Access faults sit in one of three places: the credential (fob, card, code or phone), the reader or controller, or the lock hardware and its power. We find which before replacing anything.

Where credentials have been issued with no records kept, we audit who has access and bring it back under control.

Common faults

  • Fobs or cards not reading
  • Keypad not accepting codes
  • Gate or garage door not responding
  • Electric strike or maglock failed
  • Door held open or forced alarms
  • No record of who has access
  • Controller or software out of support

How a service call works

Tell us the symptoms

Describe what the system is doing, or refusing to do. We'll tell you what's likely involved before anyone comes out.

On-site diagnosis

We find whether the fault is hardware, programming or the network before quoting a fix.

Repaired and tested

Parts replaced, programming restored, and tested with you before we leave.

What a service call costs

$330
to attend, including the first hour on site
$198
per hour after the first hour, in 30 minute blocks

The $330 is credited against the repair if you go ahead with it, and we quote the repair before we start it. All prices include GST. No travel charge, and nothing on the invoice you haven't agreed to.

For strata buildings

Access control for strata and apartment buildings

Strata managers, building managers and committees: we look after common property systems across a building, report after every visit and invoice per building, so the paperwork is as easy as the repair.

  • Programming and cancelling fobs as residents change
  • Car park and garage access
  • Lift access by floor
  • Audit of issued credentials
  • Controller and reader replacement
  • Reports for the committee

Questions we get asked

Can you add or cancel fobs for our building?

Yes. We can manage credentials on most common systems, or set building management up to do it themselves.

A fob works on one door but not another. Why?

Usually its access level or schedule, rather than a faulty fob. It's a programming fix.

What happens to electric locks in a power cut?

It depends how they were specified. Fail-safe locks release and fail-secure locks stay locked. We check that each door behaves the way it should, with battery backup where needed.

Can you take over a system someone else installed?

Yes, including recovering access to the controller where possible.

Where we attend

Servicing across the Northern Beaches, the Eastern Suburbs, the Lower and Upper North Shore and the Inner West, from Palm Beach and Mosman to Point Piper, Vaucluse, Wahroonga and Balmain.
