Keep it working, and keep it being used

An alarm that false-alarms gets switched off, and an alarm that's switched off does nothing. Most false alarms come from detectors in the wrong place, pets in protected areas or ageing sensors, not a faulty panel.

A service visit tests every detector, the siren, the backup batteries and communications, and fixes the causes of false alarms. If you'd like it armed automatically with the rest of the house, that can be arranged too.

Common faults

  • False alarms from particular zones
  • Backup battery low or dead
  • Keypad blank or not responding
  • Lost master or installer code
  • Siren not sounding
  • App or monitoring communications failed
  • Zones bypassed and never reinstated

How a service call works

Tell us the symptoms

Describe what the system is doing, or refusing to do. We'll tell you what's likely involved before anyone comes out.

On-site diagnosis

We find whether the fault is hardware, programming or the network before quoting a fix.

Repaired and tested

Parts replaced, programming restored, and tested with you before we leave.

What a service call costs

$330
to attend, including the first hour on site
$198
per hour after the first hour, in 30 minute blocks

The $330 is credited against the repair if you go ahead with it, and we quote the repair before we start it. All prices include GST. No travel charge, and nothing on the invoice you haven't agreed to.

For strata buildings

Alarm for strata and apartment buildings

Strata managers, building managers and committees: we look after common property systems across a building, report after every visit and invoice per building, so the paperwork is as easy as the repair.

  • Common area and car park alarm servicing
  • Code and user management as residents change
  • Scheduled battery and detector testing
  • Reports for the building's records
  • Urgent attendance for faults affecting the building

Questions we get asked

Why does my alarm keep going off by itself?

Usually a detector in the wrong place, pets in a protected area, a door not closing fully, or an ageing sensor. A service visit tests each zone and fixes the cause.

How often should an alarm be serviced?

Once a year is sensible, including a test of every detector, the siren and the backup battery.

We don't know the installer code. Can you help?

Often, yes, depending on the panel. We'll tell you what's possible before attending.

Can you service an alarm someone else installed?

Yes, across most common panels.

Where we attend

Servicing across the Northern Beaches, the Eastern Suburbs, the Lower and Upper North Shore and the Inner West, from Palm Beach and Mosman to Point Piper, Vaucluse, Wahroonga and Balmain.
