Privacy policy
What we collect, why, and what we do with it. Written to be read, not to cover ourselves.
Who we are
Hyper Automation Pty Ltd, ABN 15 685 740 649, a smart home design, installation and servicing business based on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. Questions about this policy go to sam@hyperautomation.com.au or 0479 122 450.
What we collect
- Enquiry details: your name, phone number, email address, suburb or building, and whatever you tell us about your home or system when you call, email or use a form on this site.
- Project information: drawings, photos and access details you share with us so we can quote and carry out work.
- Website analytics: pages visited, device type, approximate location and how you reached the site, collected through Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies. This is aggregated and does not identify you by name.
- Call information: if you call a number shown in a Google advertisement, Google may record that a call took place and its duration. We do not record calls.
Why we collect it
- To answer your enquiry, quote, book and carry out work, and to service systems afterwards.
- To keep records of installed systems so we can support them, which we hold for the life of the system.
- To understand which pages and advertisements bring people to us, so we spend our advertising budget sensibly.
- To meet our obligations as a licensed electrical and security contractor in New South Wales.
Who sees it
Our team, and the suppliers we need to do the job: the platforms we use to run the business (Fergus for jobs and quotes, Xero for invoicing, Microsoft 365 for email), Google for analytics and advertising, and the manufacturers whose systems we register on your behalf. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it with anyone else without your permission unless the law requires it.
Cookies and advertising
This site uses Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies to measure visits, calls and enquiries. Google may use this to show our advertisements to people who have visited the site. You can opt out of personalised advertising in your Google account settings, and block cookies in your browser; the site works without them.
Cameras and intercoms we install
Systems we install record footage on equipment you own, under your control. We do not have access to it after handover unless you ask us to help with a fault. We configure cameras and intercoms to record video only; recording private conversations without consent is restricted under the NSW Surveillance Devices Act 2007.
Keeping it safe and getting rid of it
Enquiry and job records are kept in the business systems above, which are password protected and backed up. We keep enquiry details for two years if no work follows, and job records for the life of the system so it can be supported. Ask and we will correct or delete what we hold about you, unless a legal or safety obligation means we must keep it.
Your rights
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or complain about how we have handled it, by emailing sam@hyperautomation.com.au. If you are not satisfied with our response you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au. This policy is written with the Australian Privacy Principles in mind.
