CCTV and security camera installation in Sydney

We design and install home security cameras across Sydney. Cameras placed for the footage you'll actually need, recording that keeps it for as long as you need it, and remote viewing that doesn't open a hole in your network.

Designed around the footage, not the camera count

The question isn't how many cameras. It's what you need to see: a face at the front door, a number plate at the gate, movement along a side path at night. We choose the lens, position and camera type for each view, then check it on site before anything is fixed to the wall.

  • Fixed and varifocal IP cameras on PoE
  • Recorders sized for your retention period, on surveillance-rated drives
  • Night performance matched to the lighting on each elevation
  • Remote viewing through the manufacturer app, on its own network segment
  • Alerts for people and vehicles, not every passing shadow

Privacy and the law. In NSW, recording a private conversation without consent is an offence under the Surveillance Devices Act 2007, so residential systems record video only. Cameras are aimed at your property, not into neighbouring yards or windows. We'll flag any view that's a problem before it's installed.

Part of the security system

CCTV works best tied into the rest of the house: the intercom shows the front door camera, the alarm triggers recording and lighting on the relevant zone, and the whole lot is visible in one app.

What goes wrong with home CCTV

It wasn't recording

The drive failed or filled and nobody knew. We set health alerts so a failed drive is a notification, not a surprise after a break-in.

Faces are unrecognisable

A wide lens covering too much. The right lens and position for each view matters more than resolution.

Night footage is useless

Infrared washing out a light wall or glare from street lighting. Solved by camera choice and positioning.

The cameras are on the home network

Every camera on the same network as the family laptops. We put them on their own segment.

What drives the cost of CCTV

We don't publish package prices, because two houses that sound the same can be very different on site. These are the things that move the number.

  • The number of views and what each needs to capture
  • Camera type and lens for each position
  • Recording retention and storage
  • Cabling access, especially on existing homes
  • Integration with the intercom, alarm and lighting

Where we work

Based on the Northern Beaches, we design and install across the Eastern Suburbs, the Lower and Upper North Shore and the harbour side of the Inner West: from Palm Beach, Clareville and Clontarf to Mosman, Hunters Hill, Wahroonga, Point Piper, Vaucluse, Bellevue Hill and Dover Heights, and further afield for larger projects.

Questions we get asked

How long does CCTV footage keep?

It depends on the number of cameras, resolution, whether it records continuously or on events, and the drive size. We size the recorder for the retention you ask for, commonly two to four weeks.

Can I view my cameras from my phone?

Yes, through the manufacturer's app. We set remote access up so the cameras stay on their own network segment rather than being exposed to the internet directly.

Do home CCTV systems record audio?

Not in the systems we install. Recording private conversations without consent is an offence in NSW, so we configure video only.

Can you service a CCTV system someone else installed?

Yes. See CCTV repairs for recorders that have stopped recording, cameras dropping out and lost passwords.
